Women Build is an annual project that recruits and empowers women of all different ages, backgrounds, and industries to come together to build homes and make a powerful and visible impact on our local community through housing. Women Build is a terrific way to involve your friends and family of all ages and genders in crucial work with a lasting impact. Women helping women sends a powerful message. Women and children make up the majority of people populating Habitat neighborhoods, as they are most likely to be affected by poor living conditions. They face challenges that make it more difficult to access this basic need, such as:

Women Build is an annual project that recruits and empowers women of all different ages, backgrounds, and industries to come together to build homes and make a powerful and visible impact on our local community through housing. Women’s Build is a truly unique and exciting opportunity for women in our community to come together, no matter what their skill levels, and roll up their sleeves to promote positive, women-led impact.
Dress for the weather, plan to work outside, and expect to get dirty! We recommend hard-soled work shoes or hiking boots, old work clothes, work gloves, and dressing in layers. No sandals or flip-flops, you will be sent home. We also recommend a hat or sunscreen for hot weather, and hand sanitizer or baby
wipes for lunch.
Due to COVID-19, we have rescheduled our Women Build 2020 will take place throughout May 2021 with volunteer opportunities on Wednesday-Saturday of each week. Build days are from 9am-4pm. Full and half day shifts are available for teams.

16 is our age minimum to volunteer for Women Build. 16-17 year-old volunteers can build with us only after submitting a parental permission form. No one under the age of 16 is allowed on our construction sites.

Yes, we need your help to fund the house! We strongly encourage every team to fundraise or donate $40 per individual or $400 per team. Our helpful fundraising guide here can help you get started! However, we don’t want anyone to be precluded from participating so if the cost would be financially prohibitive, please just let us know and we will still be happy to have you participate. All teams and individuals will also receive a Women’s Build 2021 T-Shirt!
We can accommodate up to 10 people at once on a Habitat build site. Groups may volunteer for either a half or full day shift. If your group is larger than 10, we can discuss arrangements to ensure everyone who wants to participate can volunteer.
