How the Process Works
Simple, transparent, and built around your needs.
Reach out to our team. We’ll have a conversation to learn more about your home, your household, and the repairs you need. This helps us understand your priorities and determine how we may be able to help.
All programs require an application and household income eligibility verification. This typically starts with an Intake Form where we receive self reported information from you. Then, if eligible, a full application is sent for you to complete. You will provide the full application and supporting documents to us in a scheduled in person meeting.
If your application moves forward, one of our team members will visit your home to evaluate the repair needs in person. This assessment guides the scope of work.
We’ll communicate with you as we move through the repair process from intake and application to home assessment and repairs work itself. You’ll know what work is being done, when, and by whom before anything begins.
Our team, volunteers, and skilled tradespeople complete the work. You stay informed throughout and have the chance to raise questions or concerns at any point.

Home Repair Program FAQ
Everyone deserves a decent place to live. Niagara Area Habitat for Humanity partners with local families, volunteers and organizations to build and preserve homes throughout the western half of Niagara County.
We focus on repairs that improve health, safety, and accessibility. This may include ramp installations, grab bars, bathroom modifications, roof and flooring repair, heating and plumbing system repairs, weatherization, and more — depending on your home’s specific needs. Every project is assessed individually and matched to the appropriate program.
We work with each homeowner to make repairs as affordable as possible. Some repairs are fully covered through grants, donations, and volunteer labor. Others may involve a modest contribution based on your income. We’ll be clear about any costs before work begins. No surprises.
