$2500 grant for Echota
project –A Street
48 “A” Street in Echota. Niagara Area HFH “400 CLUB” house has gotten
off the ground. The latest house in Niagara Falls, NY is being built with the
funds raised from a group of generous donors who have committed $100 a year for
4 years. Volunteers are feverishly working Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays to
get the house ready for inside work during the winter months. Stop by and give
us a hand.
We have resolved our immediate issue
of “lack of storage” with the building of our own garage to be utilized during
construction in the Echota Neighborhood.
Since the cost of everything has risen sharply in the past six months,
we are in need of some generous individuals to help defray the expense of
having to build this much-needed garage for more than our original budget line
item allows. This garage will be built
in conjunction with the fifth house construction so as to utilize manpower and
material more effectively. Please
consider a one-time gift to help us.
Updated Laptop with
QuickBooks or Quicken software. Our
affiliate is currently using a laptop that was donated over 7 years ago with
very limited workability and extremely outdated software. We are no longer able
to get software updates nor do we have the memory room available to download
newer programs.
New Board Members. We are a very hard working group of volunteers with
a dedication to our community and it’s people. If you’ve got a few hours a
month to offer your expertise or just want to make a difference in your own
community, then please consider becoming one of our group. You don’t have to
know construction, you just have to want to help improve someone’s life. If you
can give just a few hours a month, we need you.
Niagara
Area Habitat was founded in 1993 by Rev. David Dodge and a small band of
volunteers whose passion was to improve our local housing opportunities
following the same belief as stated in its articles of incorporation, as
follows:
(a) To witness to and to implement the Gospel of Jesus Christ in New York and throughout the United States and around the world by working with economically disadvantaged people to help them to create a better human habitat in which to live and work:
(b) To cooperate with other charitable organizations, through grants and otherwise, which are working to develop a better human habitat for economically disadvantaged people;
(c) To communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ by means of the spoken and written word:
(d) To receive, maintain, and accept as assets of the corporation any property, whether real, personal, or mixed, by way of gift, bequest, devise, or purchase from any person, firm, trust, or corporation, to be held, administered, and disposed of exclusively for charitable, religious, or educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, as amended and in accordance with and pursuant to the provisions of these articles of incorporation; but no gift, bequest, devise, or purchase of any such property shall be received or made and accepted if it is conditioned or limited in such manner as shall require the disposition of income or principal to any organization other than a “charitable organization” or for any purposes other than “ charitable purposes” which would jeopardize the status of the corporation as an entity exempt from federal income tax pursuant to the relevant provisions of the Internal Revenue Code, as amended.
